Pond Design & Installation North Wales
Pond Design & Installation North Wales
North Wales is one of the most naturally stunning landscapes in the UK — rolling hills, ancient woodland, mountain streams, and sweeping rural estates. It's also exactly the kind of landscape where a beautifully designed pond or natural swimming pond doesn't just enhance a property — it becomes part of it.
Wirral Wildlife Landscaping has been designing and building bespoke ponds and water features across North Wales since 2016. We've worked with rural properties, farms, and estates from the Clwydian Range to the Llŷn Peninsula, creating water features that draw from the natural character of the Welsh landscape and last for generations. Our most ambitious North Wales project to date — a 300 square metre natural swimming pond built from a natural spring in Llandegla — shows exactly what's possible when you combine engineering skill with ecological vision.

Our Pond & Water Feature Services in North Wales

Natural Swimming Ponds North Wales
North Wales properties — with their space, natural water sources, and spectacular settings — are perfect for natural swimming ponds. A natural swimming pond uses carefully designed planting zones to filter and purify the water without chemicals, creating a swimming experience that feels completely at one with the surrounding landscape. We've built natural swimming ponds that use existing springs and streams, that nestle into hillsides, and that become the centrepiece of rural estates. If you have the space and the vision, we can make it happen.

Wildlife Pond Design & Build
A wildlife pond in North Wales can become a genuinely extraordinary habitat — attracting species that simply won't appear in urban or suburban gardens. We design and build wildlife ponds of all sizes using native Welsh aquatic plants, natural stone, and construction methods that work with the land rather than against it. Every pond we build is designed to get better with every passing year.

Farm & Estate Ponds
We work with farms, rural estates, and large landowners across North Wales to design and build substantial water features — from working farm ponds that support livestock and wildlife to elegant ornamental lakes and feature ponds for country houses. If you're managing land in North Wales and want to improve its ecological value, water biodiversity, or visual character, we'd love to talk.

Pond Liner Replacement North Wales
Pond liner failure is one of the most common issues we're called out to fix across North Wales — particularly in older ponds where the original liner has aged, been damaged by tree roots, or simply reached the end of its life. We diagnose the problem, replace the liner with a high-quality butyl or EPDM liner built to last, and restore the pond's planting and ecology at the same time. We cover all of North Wales and can usually arrange a site visit within days.

Waterfalls & Streams
The natural topography of North Wales — its slopes, gradients, and natural water movement — makes it one of the best landscapes in the UK for waterfall and stream features. We design and build bespoke waterfall systems and naturalistic streams that look as though they've always been part of the landscape, using local stone and natural materials wherever possible.

Pond Renovation & Restoration
Many North Wales properties have existing ponds — sometimes decades old — that have become silted, overgrown, or ecologically depleted. We carry out full pond restorations, clearing silt, rebalancing the ecosystem, replacing aging liners, and improving habitat value to bring old water features back to their best.

Featured Project: Llandegla Natural Swimming Pond
This is one of the most ambitious projects we've completed — and one we're incredibly proud of. In Llandegla, North Wales, we were commissioned to create a 300 square metre natural swimming pond on a rural property. Rather than importing water, we engineered the design around a natural spring on the land, allowing the pond to fill and replenish naturally.
The result is a stunning natural swimming pond with a generous decking area and a beach — a feature that blends so seamlessly into the Welsh landscape that it looks as though it has been there for centuries. It's maintained entirely without chemicals, is teeming with wildlife, and provides a swimming experience unlike anything you'll find in a conventionally built pool.
This is the kind of project North Wales was made for — and exactly what we specialise in.
